Akhil Akkineni, the younger son of King Nagarjuna, is currently busy in his upcoming film Mr Majnu, which is being directed by Venky Atluri. Today on the occasion of Diwali, the makers have released a poster and confirmed about the release of Mr Majnu. Akhil Akkineni starrer film will be arrived in the month of January 2019. Recently the makers of Vinaya Vidheya Rama starring Ram Charan have also confirmed that the movie will be released in the month of January. It means Akhil will compete with Balakrishna and Ram Charan at the box office. The makers of Mr Majnu have to decide that which release date is good for Akhil starrer.
Akhil made his acting debut with a sci-fi film titled Akhil: The Power of Jua. He was then seen in Vikram Kumar’s romantic entertainer Hello, where he shared the screen space with Kalyani Priyadarshan, but unfortunately, both the movies were commercially flop at the box office. But Hello managed to get a rare honour as it was nominated at the 17th Taurus World Stunt Awards 2018 under the Best Action in a Foreign Film category. For his third film Mr Majnu, he has teamed up with director Venky Atluri. The first look of Mr Majnu was unveiled on 19th September which received positive response on social media. Akhil was seen as a playboy.
Nidhhi Agerwal is playing the love interest of Akhil Akkineni in this film. The Bollywood actress made her Telugu debut with Akhil’s elder brother Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s starrer Savyasachi, which is turning out disaster at the box office. This time, he is pinning lot of hopes on this film. Even before the release, Mr Majnu has sealed a Rs 3-crore deal. It is said that the overseas rights of the film have been snapped by Sarigama Cinemas.
Akhil starrer Mr Majnu is bankrolled by BVSN Prasad under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Thaman is composing the music.
