Director invited actress to his bedroom

Kani Kusruti, who is well known face for the audiences of  Malayalam and Tamil film Industry, quit acting for a while in Malayalam due to s*xual demands made by filmmakers. Recently during the media interaction, the actress opened up about s*xual harassment and revealed the story. The actress has made serious claims against the Malayalam film industry. Kani Kusruti said that the director invited her to his bedroom and even tried to convince her mother when she refused this offer.

She said, “Many film maker even came to my mother telling that her daughter should make adjustments if she wants to be the part of their projects.”

Kani Kusruti added that she lost the chance in the film and slowly. So she decides to quit the acting and took up another profession to make a living.

Kani Kusruti said, “I always wanted to be an artiste in the film industry. But once I came in, I realized that I wouldn’t be able to make it. There were lots of adjustments needed to be done and lot of restrictions were imposed for being a female actor. I find, it’s very hard to survive in film Industry.”

However, Kani Kusruti is hopeful about the Malayalam film industry after #MeToo Movement.

Kani Kusruti first gained recognition in 2009 with the film Kerala Cafe, where her performance was critically acclaimed. She has acted in a few Malayalam films including Oru Indian Pranayakadha, Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla, Hotel California, Oru Indian Pranayakadha. In Kollywood, she is popular for Maa, Kalam, Burma and Pisaasu.
