Kani Kusruti added that she lost the chance in the film and slowly. So she decides to quit the acting and took up another profession to make a living.
Kani Kusruti said, “I always wanted to be an artiste in the film industry. But once I came in, I realized that I wouldn’t be able to make it. There were lots of adjustments needed to be done and lot of restrictions were imposed for being a female actor. I find, it’s very hard to survive in film Industry.”
However, Kani Kusruti is hopeful about the Malayalam film industry after #MeToo Movement.
Kani Kusruti first gained recognition in 2009 with the film Kerala Cafe, where her performance was critically acclaimed. She has acted in a few Malayalam films including Oru Indian Pranayakadha, Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla, Hotel California, Oru Indian Pranayakadha. In Kollywood, she is popular for Maa, Kalam, Burma and Pisaasu.
