Thalaivi, is one of the most awaited biopic of actress and former Chief Minister of TamilNadu J Jayalalithaa, which is progressing at the brisk pace in the direction of AL Vijay. National award winning actress Kangana Ranaut is on the board to play the main lead and is making her screen presence in the role of Jayalalithaa. Now according to the latest update, the makers of Thalaivi have roped young actress Poorna aka Shamna Kasim to play the role of Sasikala, the close friend of Jayalalithaa.
Poorna herself has confirmed by sharing a tweet that she is essaying Sasikala in Thalaivi. She said that she was very happy as she got the wonderful opportunity to be associated with the biopic of Iron Lady J Jayalalithaa.
It is known news that Aravind Swami is essaying the role of iconic actor-politician MG Ramachandran and Bengali star Jisshu Sengupta is on the board to play Shoban Babu. Both have already joined the sets and started the shoot of their part.
Apparently, director AL Vijay took a look test and an audition before signing the actress Poorna. She is the latest addition on Thalaivi. Actress Madhubala has been roped in to play MGR’s wife Janaki.
Thalaivi is jointly bankrolled by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh, will hit the theaters in three languages on 26th April 2020.
