Dharavi, India’s financial capital of Mumbai  has reported its first case of Covid-19, coronavirus, which has infected over 1,600 cases in country. The 56 years old man, who reportedly died of Covid-19 had no travel history. The 1st coronavirus death in slum area Dharavi, has become a major concern to Maharashtra State.

The person who died was a resident of Dr Baliga Nagar SRA society that has around 300 flats. All the flats and shops nearby have been sealed. All senior citizens and the respiratory illness patients in Dharavi Asia’ largest slum area are being monitored.

On 1st April, the 56 years old garment shop owner living in a Slum Rehabilitation Authority building in Dharavi, became the 1st person from the area to test +ive for COVID-19, coronavirus.

7  members of the victim family have been quarantined and they will be tested for the virus that causes the Covid-19 disease.

The victim was admitted to Sion Hospital after complaining of fever on 23rd March. Maharashtra has already reported 300+ coronavirus cases.

The death toll due to the Coronavirus in India stands at 58 till Thursday. , while the number of confirmed cases in the country India is creeping close to 2,000.
