Bengali TV actress Shruti Das debuted in Bengali soap Trinayani in the year 2019, and the actress had been shamed and trolled for her skin tone for the last two years but it reached a point where she could not take it anymore as the attacks were becoming more and more personal. Though Shruti Das ignored for all these months but now she filed a police complaint against the trolls and abuse.
Shruti Das said, “Initially, everyone suggested me to ignore the trolls, and so did I. But it only got more vicious with the time. I am in a steady relationship with the director of my first Television serial ‘Trinayani’, and the hate brigade, after getting to know that, has been making distasteful remarks, questioning my talent and my character. I thought if I take it lying down any further, it would only give them more reasons to continue with the hatred.”
Shruti Das tagged the Kolkata Police on the Facebook when she posted the vulgar trolls which she had been getting on social media.
The police revealed that the cyber cell of the Kolkata cop received an email from Shruti Das regarding the online abuse that she had been facing because of her dusky skin tone. The actress also attached screenshots of social media comments.
