Bollywood actor  Dilip Kumar died this morning after prolonged illness. His family and doctors treating confirmed the demise of Dilip Kumar. The actor’s official Twitter account also confirmed the news of his death, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return.”

Dilip Kumar,  who is also known as ‘tragedy king’, had been admitted to the intensive care unit –ICU of the Hinduja Hospital, a non-COVID-19 facility, since Tuesday.  The legendary actor passed away due to prolonged illness at 7.30 am.

 A senior doctor at Hinduja hospital revealed the legendary actor  Dilip Kumar’s blood pressure and haemoglobin were falling.  The actor was given blood transfusion in the hospital and it was quite difficult to get blood for him as his blood group was O-negative.

Dilip Kumar was 98 and he  is survived by his wife, veteran actor Saira Banu.  The actor born as  Yusuf Khan, was a trendsetter in terms of acting style, and he is  inspired generations of actors across the various streams of Indian cinema.  Dil Kumar is regarded as one of the greatest actors that India has ever seen.

 Dilip Kumar is known for acting in Jwar Bhata,  Daag, Devdas, Azaad, Mughal-e-Azam, Gunga Jamuna and  Ram Aur Shyam.
