Suriya was last seen playing the role of Air Deccan chief Captain Gopinath in Sooarai Pottru, a biopic under the direction of Sudha Kongara. The movie was also released in Telugu as Akasame Nee Haddura. The story and performance of Suriya won the hearts of the movie lovers. Now according to the latest report, the movie Soorarai Pottru is going to Bollywood.
The Hindi remake will be directed by Sudha Kongara who directed the original version of Suriya starrer. Vikram Malhotra and Surya will be teaming up to bankroll the project on Abundantia Ent and 2D Entertainment.
While the talks for a Hindi remake for Soorarai Pottru was initiated earlier, the latest is that Hindi remake is officially confirmed. Singham actor Suriya said, “The love and appreciation that was showered on Soorarai Pottru was unprecedented. When I heard this story I felt this has to be a pan India film. It gives me immense pleasure to partner with Abundantia Entertainment, who have always made quality based content, to tell inspiring story of the Captain Gopinath in Hindi.”
The makers of the remake have not revealed who will play Suriya’s role in the Hindi version. The announcement regarding the cast and crew of Soorarai Pottru remake is awaited.
