It is known that the legendary lyricist Padma Shri Chembolu Seetharamashastry breathed his last at 4:07 PM yesterday on 30th November due to lung cancer related complications. Seetharamashastry was 66. Seetharamashastry was admitted on November 24 due to pneumonia and was put on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation to support his lungs in ICU.
He passed away yesterday at 4.07 p.m., according to Dr. Sambit Sahu, medical director, KIMS Hospitals. Undoubtedly it was the sheer magic Seetharamashastry created with his vocabulary and command of language that made him a name to reckon with in the South Indian industry.
Seetharamashastry’ mortal has been brought to the film Chamber in Film Nagar today morning for fans. The well-wishers are paying their last respects. His last rites will be performed by his family members at Maha Prasthanam in Jubilee Hills today morning.
He acquired the name of Sirivennela after he stormed Tollywood with his songs in the film Sirivennela directed by the director K. Vishwanath and released in 1986. Sirivennela had a great command on Telugu language and literature. In his career, he penned the songs for the movies Sirivennela, Swarna Kamalam, Swayamkrushi, Shrutilayalu, Swara Kalpana, Swati Kiranam, Gaayam, Kshana Kshanam, Indrudu Chandrudu, Alludu Garu, Antham, Sindhooram, Nuvve Kavali, Okkadu and Varsham among others.
