If ongoing buzz in media and film industry is to be believed, Anushka Shetty is going to replace lady superstar Nayantara in an upcoming movie Ponniyin Selvan in which Keerthy Suresh and Aishwarua Rai Bachchan are playing the key roles, which is directed by Mani Ratnam. if the latest buzz is to be believed, Anushka Shetty is the front-runner to play a key role in Mani Ratnam’s ambitious historical magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan and she is going to replace Nayantara. Incidentally, Baahubali fame Anushka Shetty was supposed to be part of Ponniyin Selvan when the project was in the pipeline a few years ago. Finally Anushka has been approached again for her own rejected movie.
Nayantara was supposed to do Poonguzhali’s role in this epic visual extravaganza. But as Nayantara has signed Vijay starrre ongoing sports drama and Rajinikanth starrer Darbar, she reportedly couldn’t allot dates for Mani Ratnam’ film, So the director Mani Ratnam approached Anushka Shetty to play the key role. Nayantara is one of the actress who has ability to carry the entire movie on her shoulders. Along with the heroine-oriented films, she will also appear in films like Mr Local, Thalapathy 63, Darbar etc.
Amitabh Bachchan, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vijay Sethupathi, Jayam Ravi and Keerthi Suresh will be seen playing the key roles in Anushka Shetty starrer Ponniyin Selvan, which is bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners. The film will have the music by Oscar Award winning music director AR Rahman.
Anushka Shetty will also be seen in upcoming movie Silence, in which Kollywood star Madhavan is playing the lead role. Popular Telugu producer, Kona Venkat, is bankrolling this project. This movie is directed by Hemant Madhukar, who has earlier helmed Mumbai 125 KM and Vastadu Naa Raju. Silent will be a silent film, with Anushka Shetty’ character expected to be deaf and dumb.
