We have already reported that Samantha Akkineni and Young actor Sharwanand have been roped for an upcoming movie, the remake of Tamil movie 96. Now there is a good news that Samantha’ fans. The upcoming film is going to be launched this Saturday on the occasion of Ugadi and the regular shoot will also be commenced from this month.
In its Tamil version Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Sethupathi played the lead role. Samantha will be seen reprising the role of Trisha Krishnan whereas Sharwanand will play the role of Vijay Sethupathi. The upcoming romantic entertainer has been titled as Jaanu.
The makers of Jaanu are planning to wrap up the shoot of upcoming film as soon as possible and they have decided to release it in the month of August. It will be directed by Prem Kumar who also directed the Tamil original and is bankrolled by Dil Raju whereas Govind Vasantha is on the board to compose the music.
Earlier the film was landed in trouble because of a difference in opinion between the producer and director. It was said that Dil Raju and Prem Kumar had a tiff regarding the script and the crew. Reportedly, the director wanted composer Govind Vasantha, who gave chartbuster songs in the original, to score music for the Telugu version. But, Dil Raju turned down Prem Kumar’s idea. It was also heard that Dil Raju wanted Prem Kumar to make a lot of changes in the script to suit the sensibilities of the Telugu audience. But the director wanted the remake to be exactly like the original version. But now all is well between Prem Kumar and Dil Raju.
Currently Samantha is waiting for the release of her upcoming Majili, which is arriving at the theaters on 5th April. Apart from this romantic entertainer, Samantha will also be seen in Oh Baby.
