Natural Star Nani is also coming up with sport based dram Jersey based on Cricket backdrop. Recently, Akkineni couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha shared the screen space again for ‘Majili’, which is directed by Shiva Nirvana. Touted to be an emotional romantic drama, the first half Majili entirely have a cricket backdrop. Nani was also waiting for the arrival of Majili. As he wanted to know whether the movie lovers will accept the sport based drama or not. Majili is doing superb collections at the box office and has already crossed Rs 50 Cr marks at the worldwide box office in just 10 days.
Nani starrer Jersey also has similarity with Majili and Nani will be seen playing the role of a cricketer. During the promotional events of ‘Jersey‘, when someone asked Nani about the similarities between ‘Majili’ and ‘Jersey’, Nani claimed that he hasn’t watched ‘Majili’ movie yet so he can not make any comment on it.
Nani further said that though he wanted to watch Samantha and Naga Chaitanya starrer Majili on the first day of its release but as he was extremely busy with the post production works of his upcoming drama ‘Jersey’ movie, did not get the time to watch Majili.
Recently the makers of Jersey released the trailer which received overwhelming reponse. Nani thanked to his fans and wrote on Twitter, “Thank you for the overwhelming response and love for Arjun and team #JERSEY. Thank you to all my friends from the industry and media who wholeheartedly loved and supported the trailer. April 19th. It will be worth all the wait :)) Mee Nani.”
Jersey is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri in which Shraddha Srinath is playing the female lead and the movie is slated to hit the theaters on 19th April. According to Nani, Jersey is a fictional drama that’s been treated like a biopic.
