Dulquer Salamaan who essayed the role of Gemini Ganesan in Nag Ashwin’ directorial venture Mahanati, a movie based on the life of South Indian legendary actress Savitri, under the direction of Nag Ashwin, has signed his next Telugu project. On the occasion of Dulquer Salmaan’ birthday, Vyjayanthi Movies has announced their new project with the Malayalam star, which is titled Lieutenant. The upcoming film Lieutenant will be directed by Hanu Raghvapudi. Now according to the latest buss in the film industry, Dulquer Salmaan was not the first choice of Lieutenan. The director Hanu had first approached Natural Star Nani with the same script a few years back but the project never materialized and recently he narrated the same script with minor changes to Dulquer Salmaan The actor who was very impressed with the narration, gave his nod.
Lieutenant is the love story of an Indian Army Lieutenant named Ram, which will be bankrolled by Swapna and Priyanka Dutt whereas Vishal Chandrashekhar of Nani’s KVPG fame will score the music.
Yesterday the makers released a concept poster. In the poster, Dulquer Salmaan was seen as an army man in a silhouette image.
Vyjayanthi Movies’ other recent announcement was the multi-lingual project starring Young Rebel Star Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
