Director Teja of Nene Raju Nene Mantri fame has decided to make Chitram 2, as sequel to Chitram which was released in 1988. The movie Chitram starred Uday Kiran and Reema Sen in the lead roles and it was a sensational hit in 2000. Chitram was produced by Ramoji Rao and it had the music composed by R.P. Patnaik. Now the reports are coming that the director Teja is conducting the audition digitally through Zoom calls, and will soon take the film Chitram 2 to sets. The major twist is that, Teja is said to be making this movie for OTT platform
On the otherside, Teja is also getting ready to helm two movies including Tollywood macho star Gopichand starrer Alamelu Manga Venkata Ramana and Rana Daggubati starrer Rakshasa Rajyamlo Ravanasurudu – RRR. But the sources say that he will first make Chitram 2.
Recently during an interview, RRR helmer Teja revealed that he planned for an online audition keeping in mind the safety of everyone during unprecedented times. Teja is casting about 50 actors to play pivotal roles in his Telugu films Rakshasa Raju Ravanasurudu and Alamelu Manga Venkata Ramana. Both the movies are on the pre-production stage.
Teja, who last helmed Kajal Aggarwal and Bellamkonda Srinivas starrer Sita, rose to fame with Nene Raju Nene Mantri starring Rana Daggubati, Kajal Aggarwal, and Catherine Tresa in the lead.
