If the ongoing buzz in media and the film industry are to be believed, the Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is all set to direct a web series on Velupillai Prabhakaran, the leader of the LTTE- Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. The director AMR Ramesh, who is known for directing movies on popular political personalities, is on the board to helm this web series.
Recently the director AMR Ramesh revealed that he is in talks with Kollywood actor Vijay Sethupathi to play the role of LTTE Chief the late Velupillai Prabhakaran. An official confirmation is awaited reading this web series of Vijay.
It is known news that Vijay Sethupathi recently received backlashes after he signed the film ‘800’, the biopic of Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan. After continuous trolls and negative comments, the actor left the project. Over the last week, the announcement of a biopic on spinner Muttiah Muralitharan has caused a heated controversy in Tamil Nadu.
Several political parties and Tamil nationalist sympathisers claimed that the movie 800 is an attempt to whitewash a figure who is problematic in Sri Lanka. The controversy started to bubble on 8th October, when Vijay Sethupathi, took to Twitter to announce the launch of 800. Finally he has left the project 800.
