The film maker Gunasekhar’ previous offering was Rudhramadevi in which Anushka Shetty played the lead role. The film ended up impressive and he took two years to pen the script of one more big budget film Hiranyakashyapa, the story of a demon king in which The Ghazi Attack fame Rana Daggubati will play the lead role.
Though the actor gave his nod for the project but it is delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown. So Gunasekhar decided to start the shoot of Shaakuntalam that features Samantha Akkineni in the lead role. With one more unexpected break due to the second wave of the pandemic, Gunasekhar penned one more script and the film is titled Prathapa Rudrudu. Now the reports are coming that Gunasekhar is considering Telugu Superstar Mahesh Babu to play the lead role in this upcoming drama Prathapa Rudrudu.
Prathapa Rudrudu is the last Kakatiya king who ruled the empire of Kakatiya. As Mahesh Babu has huge craze, Gunasekhar is keen to cast Bharat Ane Nenu fame star to cash in his popularity. If Mahesh Babu accepts to do the role, then the sequel of Rudramadevi would become the talk of the town.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is busy with Parasuram’ directorial venture Sarkaru Vaari Paata and he will be next seen in SS Rajamouli’ film.
