Actress Varshini Sounderajan has been roped in upcoming big budget mythological drama Shakuntalam in is thrilled about her role in the magnum opus, Shakuntalam, directed by Gunasekhar, in which Samantha Akkineni is playing the titular role.
TV hostess Varshini Sounderajan is making her comeback in Telugu film industry with back to back movies. Now she will be seen playing a crucial role in Shakuntalam, which is progressing at the brisk pace in Hyderabad.
Varshini Sounderajan is very excited about this project. Having been called by the filmmakers in summer for this role, she met Gunasekhar, after which she had a look test for the role. And later she was brought on the board. In this film, she will share the screen space with U Turn and Rangasthalam fame Samantha Akkineni.
Varshini has already started the shooting for her part, and she revealed, “ My role is layered and has multiple looks. Working under someone like Gunasekhar garu is a fantastic experience. On the first day of the shoot, I was nervous because I have never worked with stars and excited too because I was going to be working with someone as established as Samantha Akkineni.”
Apart from Gunasekhar’ directorial venture, she will also be seen as Sumanth’s wife in the upcoming romantic drama, Malli Modalaindi.
