The Tamil movie Koozhangal, directed by filmmaker Vinothraj PS, has been selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars. The film Koozhangal is produced by Vignesh Shivan and lady Superstar Nayanthara. Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to her microblogging page to share a sweet congratulatory message for Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan as their film Koozhangal made it to India’s official entry to Oscars 2022. Samanth Ruth Prabhu wrote, “Big congratulations, this is such mad news, congratulations to the entire team. more power to you.”
Not only Samantha, Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal also congratulated Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara as their film Koozhangal made it its official entry to Oscars 2022. Vicky Kaushal shared the poster and wrote, “Congratulations Vignesh Sivan, Nayanthara and Team Koozhangal! Go for glory!!!”
Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara together produced the film under their banner Rowdy Pictures and it was directed by PS Vinothraj. The movie starred Chellapandi and Karuththadaiyaan.
Total 14 movies, including Tamil film Mandela, Malayalam feature Nayattu, filmmaker Shoojit Sircar’s Sardar Udham, Vidya Balan-starrer Sherni, Captain Vikram Batra biopic Shershaah, Farhan Akhtar’s Toofan, and Marathi film Godavari, were in the Oscar race.
On the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhas recently made her debut on OTT platform with The Family Man 2 co starring Priyamani and Manoj Bajpayee.
