Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo and former Uttar Pradesh CM Mulayam Singh Yadav died on Monday morning at a private hospital in Gurugram and his mortal remains reached Safai in the evening. The last rites of veteran socialist leader Mulayam Singh Yadav will be performed at his native Saifai village in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and Andhra Pradesh Ex-Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will attend the last rites of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav later in the day.
KCR and N Chandrababu Naidu left for Saifai, Mulayam’s native village in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. They will pay tributes and respects to the mortal remains of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Later, they will participate in the funeral rites.
In his condolence message, Telangana CM KCR noted Mulayam Singh Yadav, a secularist, came into politics with the inspiration of great leaders like famous socialist leaders Ram Manohar Lohia and the famous freedom fighter Raj Narayan.
Chandrababu Naidu said, “Over 4 decades, I have had the fortune of spending plenty of time with the OBC stalwart who always impressed me with his charm, humility and deep understanding of the Indian politics.
A huge crowd of people marched along as the vehicle moved slowly on the concrete road of the Saifai village. Party workers and people in their hundreds, riding cycles, motorcycles, the cars, SUVs and other means of transport, arrived at Saifai from areas nearby and places far off Tuesday morning for the final rites of Mulayam Singh Yadav.
