Ponniyan Selvan 1 box office collections: The epic action drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan : 1’ featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, and Karthi continues to win the hearts of audiences around the world. The film helmed by Mani Ratnam has grossed a whopping Rs 300 crore worldwide. Lyca Porduction house confirmed the same by sharing a post on official Twitter handle.
Mani Ratnam’ magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan is a raging hit at the box office. The movie surpassed Rs 300 crore at the box office worldwide and it is now inching closer to the Rs 350 crore mark worldwide. According to trade reports the big budget drama Ponniyin Selvan is putting up solid numbers at the box office even during weekdays. Aishwarya and Vikram starrer has been shattering many box office records in the international circuit.
The movie was released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi on 30th September and received the positive response on its opening day. Interestingly, it is the first Tamil film to be released in IMAX format. While it is doing phenomenal business across the world, it is yet to surpass the mammoth blockbusters Prashanth Neel’ KGF 2 and Rajamouli’ RRR, both movies that went on to cross the Rs 600 cr gross.
