Dhruv Vikram, the son of Kollywood star Vikram made his debut with Adithya Varma, the remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga in which the young actor Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey essayed the lead roles. Adithya Varma was released on 22nd November and received positive reviews. Currently, the movie Adithya Varma is running successfully at the box office. Recently Dhruv Vikram attended an interview and said that he never tried to imitate Vijay Deverakonda. He also said that people around him asked him to be very careful while choosing his debut film.

When Dhruv Vikram was asked, why did he pick a remake as a debut venture? Dhruv replied, “The people told me, ‘be careful’. But there was a lot of acting potential. The producers approached me with the script of Adithya Varma, and I feel blessed with whatever I have done. I saw the movie Adithya Varma through my father’s eyes. The challenge was to make everyone realize that I am Adithya Varma, not Vijay Deverakonda.

Dhruv Vikram added, “I watched Arjun Reddy at least 200 times. I kept revisiting the select scenes every night. Subconsciously, it helped and that’s the only way I knew to internalize the protagonist. I made sure I did it my way. My intention was never to imitate the actor Vijay Deverakonda. I watched Arjun Reddy many times to find my way to execute things in a different style. ”

About Adithya Varma, Dhruv Vikram said, “As Adithya Varma was my debut movie, I had to put myself into the character’s shoes. Adithya Varma doesn’t shy away in expressing all his emotions and vulnerabilities. He is this real alpha male character.”

When Dhruva Vikram was asked about Banita Sandhu, Dhruv Vikram replied,” Her energy levels helped me play the character with focus.”

Adithya Varma is helmed by director Gireesaaya and is bankrolled by Mukesh Mehta under E4 Entertainment.
