Asaduddin Owaisi said Covid-19, coronavirus victims are ‘martyrs’ and the MP also appealed that the burials should be conducted as per guidelines issued by the health ministry.

The Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi  took to his microblogging page and said that those who passes away in epidemics, will get the status of martyrs in Islam and burial of martyrs does not require bath or  shroud.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said ‘namaz-e-janazah’ of such people- martyrs should be offered immediately and their burial should be completed in the presence of only few people. Owaisi’ statement came at a time when the family members of those who died of Covid-19, Coronavirus are undergoing traumatic moments due to strict restrictions in disposal of bodies.

Coronavirus has claimed nine lives in Telangana. All of them had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in New Delhi last month.

Few days ago, Owaisi was in the news headlines when he had said, “The Covid-19 started from China and spread across the world including Italy, UK, Spain, Middle East countries and United States. Tablighi Jamaat is more than  100 years old group . When the govt had banned gatherings in New Delhi they should have also suspended the Parliament session.
