Currently she is busy in her upcoming movie, which is a biopic of Shakuntala Devi. Yesterday the makers of Shakuntala Devi unveiled the trailer which received positive response by the movie lovers and increased the excitement to watch the movie. Now according to the latest update, Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi will be released on OTT platform.
Vidya Balan says the direct to digital release strategy will take Shakuntala Devi to global audiences.
Vidya added, “A direct release on the streaming platform will bring Shakuntala Devi one step closer to audiences across the globe, where they can watch the movie at their convenience. The movie Shakuntala Devi was planned for a theatrical release, but will be going digital route due to the disruptions caused by the Coronavirus crisis.”
Helmed by Anu Menon, the film Shakuntala Devi is based on the life of Shakuntala, who is widely revered as the human computer for her innate ability to make incredibly complex calculations within seconds. The movie also has Sanya Malhotra, who is playing the role of Shakuntala Devi’ daughter Anupama, along with Amit Sadh and Jisshu Sengupta in crucial roles.
Shakuntala Devi will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 31st July.
