Kollywood actress and model Meera Mithun has recently made it to the headlines after she passed derogatory comments against the people belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe . Now according to the latest report, Meera Mithun has been arrested on 14th August by Crime Branch.

Days after Meera Mithun was booked for making casteist remarks against  SC and ST community who work in the film industry, she was arrested in Kerala by the Chennai Crime Branch. Her arrest comes two days after  she failed to appear before the police for an inquiry on 12th August.

In a video taken by Meera Mithun before her arrest by the cop, she alleges she is being tortured, claiming that the men in her room are police officers.  The actress screams warning them not to touch her.  She questions why a woman is subjected to such torture. In the video,  she is also heard refusing to surrender her phone, threatening to injure herself if the police personnel forcibly arrest her.  She also alleges that the police harasses her.

Kollywood actress Meera Mithun appealed to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the video to save her.

Last week, based on a complaint by Vanni Arasu, the leader of VSK, a case was registered against Meera Mithun.
