The election of the next president of India is all set to take place today across all states, and officials have made foolproof arrangements in the Assembly complex in Amaravati for the voting. Particularly, the Andhra Pradesh state is curious to witness the victory of the BJP, which has no seat and vote in the state.
As both the ruling YSRC and the rival parties, including the Telugu Desam party have extended their support to the BJP candidate Draupadi Murmu. There are 151 MLAs and 22 MPs for the YSRC, and the TD has 3 MPs and 23 MLAs. Since the opposition nominee Yashwant Sinha has a complete support from several parties in other states, Murmu, who is NDA’s Presidential candidate won’t get all the polled votes.
Amyway, the YSRC has first announced its support for her and then TD has also extended its support. By asking the YSRC to press the demand for Special Category Status for AP as acondition for supporting Murmu, The Telugu Desam Party earlier tried to make political capital.
There are a total of 36 MPs from AP in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, whose total value is 25,488. The total vote value of the 175 MLAs is 27,825. Thus the total value of votes from AP in the presidential poll is 53,313. In this, the vote value of YSRC MPs and MLAs is 45,957. The YSRC has 22 Lok Sabha MPs and 9 Rajya Sabha MPs, whose votes value is 21,948.
The votes value of 151 ,LAs of the YSRC is 24,009. With this, we can understand that the ruling party YSRCP is playing a key role in the election of the new President of India.
