Since the origin of the CoronaVirus pandemic, the film industry has been facing inconvenience in the release of movies, mostly the biggest films. Starting with RRR locking two dates for its release, the succeeding films are also following the same formula.
On January 21, RRR filmmakers announced two release dates, from which one was yet to be confirmed officially. It is the first time in the film industry to do so. Subsequent to RRR, other three upcoming films such as Bheemla Nayak, Ghani and Rama Rao on Duty are also in the same string with two release dates. With this, locking two release dates for the films has become prevalent these days.
Two Release Dates Are A Big Bewilderment
Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer RRR had kept two release dates March 18 and April 28 in hold, before finalizing March 25. Reacting to this, Ramesh Bala, the Trade analyst said that announcing two days helped other teams to schedule their emancipation. But it has become a major hesitation in the trade circuit as three more films are on the same path.
Announcing two release dates might help small films
As many biggest films in multiple languages are scheduled to release, theaters are going to have a busy couple of months till May. The Executive Director of Rohini Theater in Chennai expressed that holding two dates is a good move, and only Telugu films are following this trend. On the other front, it will help the small films to schedule their releases conveniently.
As soon as the pandemic terminated completely across the world, this trend could not continue. But at present, if this trend continues for the biggest films, obviously there will be a great tumble around the trade society.
